In December 2024, a Guangzhou company engaged a Shenzhen freight forwarding company to provide door-to-door delivery services. After the Guangzhou company provided the designated delivery address, the freight forwarder sent a statement of account, which the Guangzhou company acknowledged and approved. Subsequently, the freight forwarder completed the transportation as agreed. However, despite multiple payment reminders, the Guangzhou company still refused to pay the freight charges.

As a result, the freight forwarder retained attorneys Larry Zhou and Bryan Zhang from Landing (Shenzhen) Law Office to represent the case. After thoroughly reviewing the case materials, the two attorneys filed a lawsuit with the Guangzhou Maritime Court, requesting the court to order the opposing party to pay all freight charges and corresponding interest.

Due to the heavy caseload of the Maritime Court, our attorneys actively communicated with the court to expedite the case filing and trial scheduling. Although the amount in dispute was not large, our attorneys did not take it lightly. They still prepared complete and sufficient evidence, forming a solid chain of proof. On the day of the hearing, after the opposing party appeared in court, our attorneys noticed that they were open to mediation. Seizing the opportunity, our attorneys actively facilitated negotiations between the parties. In the end, the opposing party agreed to pay all freight charges in a lump sum. The dispute between the parties was substantively resolved, and they agreed to continue cooperating in the future.

In this case, attorneys Larry Zhou and Bryan Zhang not only helped the client successfully recover all freight charges but also facilitated a peaceful resolution of the dispute, achieving a win-win outcome that balanced the protection of rights with the preservation of the business relationship.
