Lawyer Jeremy Helps UAE Company Settle Dispute with Guangdong Logistics Co., Secures Compensation

Recently, the legal team led by senior partner Larry Zhou at Landing (Shenzhen) Law Office successfully assisted a UAE purchaser in resolving a commercial dispute with a logistics company based in Guangdong, China.

In 2024, the UAE company purchased vehicle equipments in China and engaged the Guangdong logistics company to transport the goods to the Netherlands. However, during transit, the cargo was confiscated by customs in a third country during road transportation. 

After negotiations, the logistics company issued a compensation letter but later reneged on its commitment, citing reasons such as insurance refusal, force majeure, and insufficient profit margins.

Consequently, the UAE company (hereinafter referred to as the "Client") sought legal assistance from Larry Zhou's team at Landing (Shenzhen) Law Office.

Upon accepting the mandate, Jeremy Hu, a lawyer from Larry's legal team, promptly reviewed the case, analyzed the evidence, and evaluated potential legal strategies. While sending a formal legal notice to the opposing party, our attorney also actively engaged in negotiations to explore settlement options.

Despite facing challenges—including the logistics company's refusal to communicate and its disagreement with the claimed compensation amount—our lawyer maintained a professional approach, adapting strategies based on developments to safeguard the Client's interests.

Ultimately, the logistics company agreed to refund 75% of the payment directly and offset the remaining amount in future collaborations. The Client accepted the proposal, and both parties executed a settlement agreement. Under our lawyer's supervision, the logistics company completed the refund as scheduled.
